The Inspiration Behind Sola Nalu

There is something so special about the ocean at sunset-the golden light reflecting off the water, the warmth of the sun on your skin, and the feeling of motivation and happiness you wish you could bring with you everywhere. That euphoric feeling is the inspiration behind Sola Nalu. 

If you follow me on TikTok or Instagram, you've probably heard me talk about why I wanted to start Sola Nalu. To me, it's more than a jewelry brand—it's a feeling. My hope is that whenever you wear one of our pieces, you're reminded of sunshine, freedom, and the promise of brighter days ahead.

The name itself reflects my story. "Sola" draws inspiration from the sun, symbolizing warmth, confidence, and light. "Nalu," a Hawaiian word meaning wave, represents movement, adventure, and the sense of freedom I find whenever I'm near the water. Together, Sola Nalu embodies the balance between sun and sea—the two elements that inspire every piece we create.

On a more personal note, I chose the name because the initials "S.N." are also my own. I wanted the brand to feel deeply connected to who I am and the story behind why I started it.

Our designs are influenced by the effortless beauty of Mediterranean summers. Picture whitewashed villages overlooking crystal-blue waters, golden sunsets over the Aegean Sea, and jewelry that catches the light with every movement. What I love most is the timeless, vintage-inspired feel of these pieces. They feel almost like treasures discovered from another era—unique, meaningful, and full of character. My goal was to create jewelry that feels like a keepsake from your favorite coastal escape.

At Sola Nalu, we believe jewelry should do more than complete an outfit. It should tell a story, spark a memory, and make you feel confident. Whether you're spending the day at the beach, exploring a new city, or simply dreaming of your next getaway, our pieces are designed to bring a little piece of that endless summer feeling with you. Going along with how this jewelry tells a story, the crosses on these pieces symbolize more than most people would think. They represent a significant part of my personal journey. My faith has been one of the most important influences in my life. Through every high and low, my relationship with Jesus has remained my foundation, and I wanted that part of my story to be reflected in the jewelry I create. These pieces serve as a reminder of faith, hope, and the strength that comes from trusting God through every season of life.
